· SOFT LANDSCAPING DESIGN & PLANTING

A tired street frontage replaced with a structured entry sequence, new lawn and low-maintenance coastal planting.

The site

A north-facing Cleveland block with a steep, eroding front verge, patchy lawn and no clear path to the front door.

Our approach

We terraced the fall with a low stone retaining wall, set out sandstone steps on a direct line to the entry, then rebuilt the lawn and framed it with mass-planted natives that cope with salt-laden wind.

Detail

Drainage was run behind the retaining wall before backfilling, and the lawn was graded to shed water to the street rather than the driveway.
