FAQs

Questions we're asked

How deep should mulch be?

Around 75mm is the sweet spot in South East Queensland - deep enough to hold moisture and suppress weeds, without smothering plant stems.

How often should mulch be topped up?

Most Brisbane gardens need a top-up every 12 to 18 months, ideally heading into spring before the summer heat.

Which mulch do you recommend?

Hardwood chip and forest blends last longest for feature beds; sugar cane or lucerne suit vegetable and productive beds. We match it to the bed and the look you want.

Will mulch stop weeds completely?

It dramatically reduces them. Combined with clean edges and periodic maintenance visits, weeding becomes a minor task rather than a weekend job.
